Woking businesses given help to win customers and boost sales

Local businesses joined together as part of the first in a new series of Connect2Innovation seminars sponsored by Woking Borough Council at the HG Wells Centre last week. The morning breakfast seminar Win Customers & Boost Sales, which was free to attend, was the first of several events to be sponsored by the council as part of its strategy to support business innovation and growth and was a great success. Over 35 local businesses attended the session which featured talks on marketing, website design, social media and sales from local businesses Padua Communications (wordpress-221387-749983.cloudwaysapps.com), Atticus7 and Connect2Innovation.

Matt Peachey, Economic Development & Borough Promotion Manager at Woking Borough Council, said: “This is the first in a series of workshops that we are running to help businesses keep ahead of the game in this tough economic climate. We have a real pool of talent in Surrey businesses and as well as a great networking opportunity, it’s great for us to be able to help with free advice and guidance from experts in their respective fields.”

Nicky Rudd, managing director of Padua Communications, says: “Business communications are changing all the time and business owners, more than ever before, are expected to understand the latest business tools so we were thrilled to be asked to speak and help share our knowledge in this fast-paced arena.”

Feedback from the event included comments such as: “Excellent free advice… so rare these days!” and “Great source of current information and top tips.”
