- Marie Stanikowski consultant at Publicasity, Covent Garden, says, ‘I wanted to get a generic overview on how to approach Twitter and create content without diving too deeply into indepth analysis. ‘To get all the top tips in a nutshell was really helpful. I loved all the blogging advice and it was fascinating to learn how as a company can make our own blogs really relevant to our client base. It was a really useful tool to take away today. The case studies were great too, some of the stories really stuck in my head.’
- Ian Parker, partner at The Infinite Group, Chobham says, ‘The speakers covered a lot of key issues in a short space of time. Social Media is constantly changing and I was able to get a good, concise snapshot of the latest issues which was really helpful.’
- Ben Neale, web designer, says. ‘I have two businesses and use social media a bit but coming along today gave me plenty of lightbulb moments that I can now incorporate into my strategy. It’s always great to have these networking opportunities, so it was all good.’
- Graham Armfield (pictured with Nicky Kriel), web accessibility consultant at Coolfields Consulting, says,’ I do a little bit of Social Media but not consistently. There was a lot of useful advice, which helped me crystalise ideas about how I can improve my reach with social media and why I need to invest in putting a clear strategy in place. I was very interested in the comments about LinkedIn and got some great tips about blogging. A lot of my blogs are very wordy but now I will be trying to break them down and create content based on the questions my customers would like to see answered in a blog.’
- David Roaf, proprietor of Woodoak Wilderness, says. ‘The event was excellent. I wanted to find out more about using social media and how we can develop and expand our marketing strategy. There was a lot of food for thought here, some areas we already knew but hearing it in this context concreted our ideas. Also meeting other businesses in similar positions to us was a great networking opportunity.’ Hayley Roaf, business consultant at Woodoak Wilderness, added ‘I liked the idea of answering customers questions in a blog. It was refreshing to come to a social media event where it wasn’t all about Facebook.’
- Adam Lake, web content officer at Surrey County Council, says, ‘It was a great chance to keep abreast of what is going on. The whole idea of social media is to be social! This event helped me find out what people are up to, what the latest trends are and also highlighted new channels we can expand into such as blogging and creating content.’
- Sharon Galliford, healer and transpersonal psychologist from Lightwater, says, ‘I am one of those people who do spend hours on social media logging in and out of various apps to update my website. Learning about social media management systems such as HootSuite and TweetDeck will be invaluable to my own time management.’
