c2i eventLast week, we spoke at a Connect 2 Innovation event run by Woking Borough Council which went really well. The focus of the event content was to try and take a fresh look at your business to win those all important sales.

We gave a presentation covering our expertise in marketing, creating a value proposition and social media and it was interesting that all feedback that we received followed a similar theme – what’s the best way to create helpful content?

Here’s a snapshot of some of our top tips on how to remain creative and where to start when thinking about your content.

  1. It’s not all about you – don’t fall into the trap of merely broadcasting your products/services. Put your customer first – what would they find useful?
  2. On social media, consider what your followers want to read. Are there some helpful hints that you can share that will help your customers; or start a conversation and ask questions. You will be amazed at how people are open to sharing their thoughts and opinions if asked nicely. You can also use social media to get some useful customer feedback in real-time. Remember to create a two-way conversation
  3. Think about how you appear to your customers and how you help your clients/customers. Consider what your customers issues were when they approached you in the first place and how you were able to help them overcome their obstacles. Have you created some case studies to show this to new customers in an easy way?
  4. Social media is an open window – people can look in at you but you can also monitor what people are saying about your brand. If you get complaints via social media, it’s not the end of the world, it is how you handle them that is important. If it’s clear you are a brand to be trusted, your business will grow from strength to strength. Plus of course, you can also keep an eye on the competition!
