Padua Communications’ MD named in top 50 Business Women in Surrey

Surrey Chambers Business Women in Surrey (BWiS) was delighted to reveal the top 10 women on its inaugural Top Businesswomen in Surrey List this week (10 March) at a special flagship event to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Held at the WWF Living Planet Centre in Woking, 120 guests listened to inspiring speeches from senior women including Rosemary French OBE of Gatwick Diamond, Jenny Tomley from Redaway Blackmore, Rio Tinto’s Anne Stevens, Darshana Ubl of Entrevo, Tracey Horner from CARE International, and MP for Guildford Anne Milton.

The common theme from all was that women should celebrate their achievements in the workplace much more and shout from the rooftops about their successes.

The BWiS 2015 Top 50 Businesswomen in Surrey List was then revealed and Padua Communications’ MD Nicky Rudd had been voted in. Nicky commented: “It was great to be nominated by a lovely anonymous person but to be voted and come in the top 50 was a real thrill. The evening was great and there were some superb speakers as well as some interesting discussions on women in the workplace.”

In Rosemary French’s speech, she mentioned the Manifesto for Women in Business, which calls for changes within the business world in 5 key areas, Leadership, Skills, Childcare, Social Security and Investment and Funding. To find our more, please visit www.prowess.org.uk/manifesto

With an election on the horizon, please see what you can do to raise the awareness of women in business and make this a level playing field.
